A full terminal, on your phone.

A coding-agent session and a manual command on the same computer.

setup

Setup in three steps.

Relay pairing requires no VPN or port forwarding. Reachable hosts connect directly over SSH. The host must remain awake and online.

  1. 01

    Install the agent

One command on the Mac or Linux host. Open source.

    $ npm i -g remoteconsole-agent
  2. 02

    Scan the QR code

Pair once from the app. The host appears in your list, including behind NAT.

    pairs in one scan
  3. 03

    Open the session

With tmux on the host, sessions persist across disconnects. Reconnect to continue.

    reattaches automatically

Your computers

Direct connections over LAN or Tailscale. Relay optional.

Your sessions

Return to the running session. Read output, send the next instruction, or run a command yourself.

Requires tmux on the host. The host must remain awake and online.

Biometric unlock, PIN fallback, and auto-lock on background.

iPhone, iPad, and web

xterm-256color with full Unicode. Laid out for iPhone and iPad; also runs in a browser.

faq

Frequently asked questions.

Do I need to open ports or run a VPN?

No. The agent connects outbound to the relay. Direct LAN and Tailscale connections are also supported, free and unlimited.

Can the relay read my session?

No. SSH is negotiated end to end between the app and your own sshd. The relay forwards ciphertext only and can be self-hosted.

Which coding agents are supported?

Any command-line agent, including Claude Code, Codex, Aider, and Gemini CLI. RemoteConsole provides the terminal; no agent integration is required.

Is tmux required?

For persistent sessions, yes. The host must remain awake and online. Standard SSH works without tmux.

Is RemoteConsole a remote desktop app?

No. It provides SSH terminal access and SFTP file transfer to your own computers. It does not share screens or host computers or agents.

Do voice commands cost extra?

No subscription is required. Interpretation uses your own provider API key, stored on device. Provider charges may apply.

Which platforms are supported?

iPhone, iPad, and Android, via the App Store and Google Play. Hosts must run macOS or Linux.
